Luanne is a scheduling assistant that works over email and Google Calendar. This page explains what Luanne accesses, what it stores, and what it never does. It is written to be read, not skimmed.
What Luanne accesses
Your Google account (sign-in)
When you sign in with Google, Luanne receives your email address, name, and profile picture to create your account. Sign-in uses only the basic identity scopes.
Your Google Calendar
When you connect your calendar, Luanne asks for these Google Calendar permissions and uses them only as described:
- See and edit events on your calendars (
calendar.events): to read when you are busy, out of office, or in focus time so that proposed meeting times fit; and to create, update, or cancel the meetings Luanne schedules for you. Luanne does not change events it did not create unless you ask it to. - See the list of your calendars (
calendar.calendarlist.readonly): so you can choose which calendars count toward your availability and which one receives bookings. - See free/busy information (
calendar.freebusy): to check availability of coworkers who have shared free/busy with you, without seeing their event details.
Luanne does not request access to Gmail. It never reads your inbox.
Email sent to Luanne
Luanne receives only the email that is addressed to her own address (for example luanne@mail.luanne.xyz), whether you write to her directly, CC her, or forward a thread to her. Those messages, and the messages Luanne sends, are stored so that she can follow the conversation.
How Luanne uses this information
- To understand what you asked for (who should meet, for how long, and by when).
- To compute available times from your calendar and propose them.
- To write and send scheduling emails on your behalf, from Luanne's own address.
- To create the calendar event with a Google Meet link and confirm it.
- To remember your scheduling preferences (working hours, buffers, meeting lengths) so you do not have to repeat them.
Luanne uses a large language model (provided by Anthropic) to read email text and draft replies. The model is given the text of the relevant email and a short description of the task. It is never given your calendar event titles or attendees, and it does not decide times or book anything; that is done by ordinary program code.
What Luanne never does
- Never reads your inbox or any email not addressed to Luanne.
- Never shares your calendar details with other people. Other participants only ever see the specific times Luanne proposes.
- Never sells, rents, or shares your data with third parties for their own purposes, and never uses it for advertising.
- Never uses your data to train AI models.
- Never lets a human review your messages unless you explicitly enable “share with support” on a specific task.
Luanne's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
What is stored, and for how long
- Your account, preferences, and connected-calendar settings: while your account exists.
- Google access credentials: encrypted at rest, used only by Luanne's server to act on your behalf, deleted when you disconnect.
- Emails to and from Luanne, and the scheduling tasks they belong to: the text of messages is deleted 180 days after a task finishes; a record of what Luanne did (dates, participants, actions) is kept for up to two years so you can see what happened.
- Details of the meetings Luanne booked: only what is needed to recognise and update them (event id, time, status, attendee responses).
Luanne does not keep a copy of your calendar. Availability is read live from Google each time it is needed.
Who can see your data
Only you can see your tasks, messages, and preferences. Workspace administrators can manage members and settings but cannot read your conversations. Operators can see whether a task failed and why, but not its message contents, unless you turn on “share with support” for that task.
Service providers
Luanne runs on Vercel (application hosting), Supabase (database and sign-in), Resend (sending and receiving email), Anthropic (language model), and Google (Calendar and sign-in). Each receives only what is necessary to provide its function.
Your choices
- Disconnect your calendar on the Connections page. Luanne revokes its own access with Google, deletes the stored credentials, and pauses any tasks in progress.
- Revoke access from Google at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Pause or take over any conversation by replying “I'll take it from here”, or from the task page.
- Delete your account and data by emailing hello@luanne.xyz.
